Two Eateries Set To Open In Nashville’s 12 South

People travel to and fro the 12 South stretch in Nashville at slow speeds on weekends, thus preventing others from reaching Publix. Are you one of those people? If so, you might have been monitoring two major eatery developments to the north of the well-known commercial district.

The first eatery to open its doors to the public will be Emery Wood Fired at the property of a former dry-cleaning business. The location was all but the last operating neighborhood services business in the tourist-centric stretch of restaurants, boutiques and bars. Emery Wood Fired will start to operate its ovens punctually for a September 14 opening; the restaurant is already taking reservations through its website.

One wonders why the building has a sign with an inscription that reads “est.2020”, despite the September 2021 opening. Perhaps it is a nod to a Nashville Post story from William Williams about The Stillery owners’ plan on building out the past cleaning business as an eatery. The restaurant revolves around food items prepared in a wood-fired oven such as steaks, burgers, seafood, and pizzas. For your information, Steve Kovach and Steve Sargent own The Stillery, a restaurant that was opened this spring in the 12 South neighborhood of Nashville.

The ButterMilk Ranch will open around the Emery Wood Fired location. The name of the restaurant honors the clothing shop that once occupied the space, Katy K’s Ranch Dressing. Edgar Pendley advertises for employees in preparation for its imminent opening. Pendley is a well-known open-fire chef in Nashville, so it was bold of its leadership to place Emery Wood Fired around the ButterMilk Ranch building. Nevertheless, passers-by and others who travel through the area will soon have more smoked meat options.

The façade of the ButterMilk Ranch is more impressive than that of Emery Wood Fired. The Facebook page of the restaurant promises a fascinating concept that combines small batch-baked goods and day dining. The three day-dining options are food for breakfast, meals to be served as a breakfast-lunch combo as well as lunch. It seems that it could be well-received by young unmarried women and other travelers who have begun to visit the area in large numbers.

The expansion of Emery Wood Fired looks almost complete, so people can soon discover what has been happening here behind closed doors. You might want to visit these restaurants preferably between the days where large groups of partiers arrive and depart.
